As the president of the host country, it would give me immense joy and pride to see so many of you attending and being a part of the MTM 2026. I thank APAC & LCI for giving us this opportunity. Welcome everyone on and off the dais.
Ladies Circle Nepal, in its 15th year of existence, has grown with our share of ups and downs. We are a country with 11 circles and 140 members.
This year, to make our organization more inclusive and situation-appropriate, we have opened membership to non-married women as well. Because marriage alone does not define one’s want to serve the society.
We have brought about a lot of systematic and consistent development in our ways of reporting, so that in the upcoming years no convincing is required for members to take up a place on the board.
Coming to our fundraisers, I would proudly like to convey to all present here that even though the country is not in the most favorable economic conditions, we have managed to raise funds via movie screenings, September Waste Week month (which we have continued supporting via means like thrift stalls, e-waste recycling, upcycling products, raffles, and events), online housie, and kids' carnivals—and of course donations—summing to a total of 35,080 Euros.
We are in the third year of supporting Autism as a cause, with full focus on contributing towards an additional floor of SSDRC. All circles have been generous enough to raise and therefore contribute towards that construction, which will commence immediately after our third NEX which is scheduled for Sunday, tomorrow.
We have contributed to other September month projects focused on Waste Week, October Cancer, and individual circles contributing towards...
...causes most close to them. With the installation of water plants, hygiene products, and ration drives, the total products donated until now is worth 40,00,000 [NPR]—or 23,312 Euros to be precise. We wish to continue, the biggest project being the mass wedding of 11 couples.
We have also had wonderful fellowship between circlers both nationally and now internationally. My motto of “Work Hard and Play Hard” being the core of it all.
How can I forget to mention our side-by-side association, whom we have grown closer to and work together with on a lot of events now.
I would take a moment to thank our amazing MTM convenors for hosting this beautiful event. I have been able to sleep well because they have been working so hard.
